By the end of this lesson, you will be able to read and understand basic vocabulary related to martial arts.
Materials and Prep
- Printed flashcards with pictures of martial arts poses
- Blank index cards
- Markers or crayons
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Show the student the flashcards with pictures of martial arts poses. Explain that each pose represents a different move in martial arts.
- Ask the student to choose their favorite pose and draw it on one of the blank index cards.
- Help the student write the name of the pose underneath their drawing.
- Encourage the student to practice saying the name of the pose out loud.
- Repeat the previous steps for a few more poses, allowing the student to choose and draw each pose.
- Once the index cards are complete, mix them up and ask the student to match each pose with its corresponding name.
