Ask the student to draw their own coniferous tree on the blank paper using the crayons/markers. Encourage them to include cones and needle-like leaves in their drawing.

After they finish drawing, have a discussion about their artwork. Ask questions like:
- What did you include in your drawing that makes it a coniferous tree?
- What are some characteristics of coniferous trees?
- Can you name any coniferous trees you've seen before?
