Objective

By the end of this lesson, the Year 7 student will be able to understand the influence of the Roman Empire on physical education during that time period.

Activities

  1. Research the Roman Empire's physical education practices and write a brief summary of your findings.

  2. Create a poster or infographic showcasing the different physical activities and sports that were popular during the Roman Empire. Include illustrations and descriptions.

  3. Design a simple Roman-inspired physical fitness routine. Include exercises that mimic activities or movements from that time period.

  4. Perform the fitness routine you created and record your experience in your notebook. Reflect on the similarities and differences between modern physical education and that of the Roman Empire.
