Activities
- Introduce the topic of Roman mosaics and show examples of different designs.
- Explain the basic process of creating a mosaic: cutting small colored paper squares and arranging them to form a pattern or image.
- Provide the students with a piece of cardboard or thick paper as the base for their mosaic.
- Ask the students to choose a simple pattern or image from the reference images and sketch it lightly on the cardboard using a pencil and ruler.
- Show the students how to cut small squares from colored paper and glue them onto the cardboard to create their mosaic design.
- Encourage creativity and experimentation with colors and patterns.
- Allow the students time to complete their mosaic artwork.
