Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Pencil or pen

Before starting the lesson, make sure you are familiar with the names of different Hot Wheels track pieces.

Activities

  1. Write down the names of different Hot Wheels track pieces.

Start by writing down the names of at least five different Hot Wheels track pieces. Use your knowledge of track building to come up with the names.

  2. Create a spelling word search.

Take a blank sheet of paper and draw a grid. Fill the grid with the names of the Hot Wheels track pieces you wrote down in the previous activity. Make sure the words are hidden in different directions (horizontal, vertical, diagonal).

  3. Spell and build.

Choose one of the Hot Wheels track pieces from your word search. Spell out the name of the track piece out loud, then try to build a track using that piece. Repeat this activity with different track pieces.
