Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and name the states of the United States of America.
Materials and Prep
- Printed map of the United States of America
- Coloring pencils or markers
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Blank paper
Activities
- Introduce the United States of America to the student by showing them the printed map.
- Explain that the United States is made up of 50 states.
- Ask the student to color each state on the map using different colors.
- Help the student cut out each state separately.
- Guide the student in gluing each state onto a blank paper, arranging them in the shape of the United States.
- Review the names of the states with the student while pointing to each one on the paper.
