Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and apply them to solve mathematical problems related to their interest in Fnaf.
Materials and Prep
- Pencil and paper
- Fnaf-themed objects or images (optional)
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Create a Fnaf-themed addition and subtraction worksheet. Use images or objects related to Fnaf to make the problems more engaging. For example, "Freddy had 5 pizzas, but he gave 2 pizzas to Bonnie. How many pizzas does Freddy have now?"
- Play a Fnaf-inspired multiplication and division game. Use Fnaf characters or objects as counters. For example, ask the student to distribute 12 Fnaf toys equally among 3 friends and determine how many each friend will receive.
- Design a Fnaf-themed word problem booklet. Write a series of word problems incorporating Fnaf characters and scenarios. Encourage the student to solve the problems using arithmetic operations.
Talking Points
- Addition: "When we add two numbers together, we find the total. For example, if we have 3 Freddy plushies and 2 Foxy plushies, how many plushies do we have in total?"
- Subtraction: "Subtraction helps us find out how much is left. If we have 6 Chica cupcakes and we eat 3 of them, how many cupcakes do we have left?"
- Multiplication: "Multiplication is like adding a number to itself several times. If we have 4 rows of 3 Fnaf action figures, how many action figures do we have in total?"
- Division: "Division helps us share things equally. If we have 12 Mangle stickers and we want to give them to 4 friends, how many stickers will each friend get?"
- Problem Solving: "Sometimes we can use math to solve fun problems. For example, if Freddy has 10 coins and Bonnie has 4 coins, how many more coins does Freddy have than Bonnie?"
