Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and name different colors, improve fine motor skills through coloring, and practice storytelling and imaginative play with dolls.

Materials and Prep

  • Coloring sheets or blank paper
  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • Dolls or stuffed animals

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Coloring Fun: Provide the student with coloring sheets or blank paper and crayons or colored pencils. Encourage them to choose their favorite colors and create their own colorful masterpieces.
  2. Doll Storytelling: Let the student use their dolls or stuffed animals to create a story. Prompt them with questions like, "What are your dolls' names?" and "What adventures can they go on together?" Encourage them to use their imagination and create a narrative with a beginning, middle, and end.

  • "Today, we are going to have a lot of fun with colors and dolls!"
  • "Colors are all around us. Can you name some colors you see?"
  • "Let's choose our favorite colors and start coloring. Which color do you want to use first?"
  • "Wow, you did a great job coloring! What do you like most about your artwork?"
