Objective

Activities

  • Activity 1: Map Exploration
    Using a map of ancient Egypt, have the student locate major cities, such as Memphis and Thebes, as well as important landmarks like the Nile River and the pyramids. Encourage the student to mark these locations on the map and discuss their significance.
  • Activity 2: Hieroglyphics Decoding
    Provide the student with a sheet of paper containing various hieroglyphic symbols and their corresponding meanings. Challenge the student to decode a short message written in hieroglyphics and write their own message using the symbols.
  • Activity 3: Mummification Simulation
    Explain the process of mummification in ancient Egypt and its significance in their beliefs about the afterlife. Then, guide the student through a fun and simplified mummification simulation using a doll or toy. This activity will help them understand the rituals and steps involved in the mummification process.
