Introduction to Australian Sign Language
Begin by discussing with the student what sign language is and its importance in communication. Explain that Australian sign language is a unique form of sign language used in Australia.

Learn the Alphabet
Teach the student the Australian sign language alphabet. Demonstrate each letter and have the student practice signing the letters along with you. Encourage them to ask questions and provide feedback on their progress.

Practice Words
Select a few simple words related to reading and language arts, such as "book," "read," and "write." Teach the corresponding signs for these words and have the student practice signing them. Use the words in sentences to reinforce their understanding.

Together with the student, create a short story using Australian sign language. Start with simple sentences and gradually add more complexity. Encourage the student to be creative and incorporate the signs they have learned so far.
