Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to learn about the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium and gain a basic understanding of the wonders of wildlife and marine life.

Materials and Prep

  • Computer or tablet with internet access
  • Pen and paper
  • Optional: Coloring materials

Before the lesson, make sure the computer or tablet is set up and ready to access the internet. Have the pen and paper ready for any note-taking or drawing activities. If desired, prepare coloring materials for a related coloring activity.

Activities

  • Watch a Virtual Tour: Visit the official website of the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium and find their virtual tour. Watch the virtual tour together and discuss the different animals and habitats you see.
  • Draw and Color: Ask the student to choose their favorite animal from the virtual tour and draw it on paper. Encourage them to color it using their creativity.
  • Animal Sounds: Play a game of guessing animal sounds. Find videos or audio clips of various animals and play them for the student. Let them guess the animal and imitate its sound.
  • Animal Movement: Choose a few animals from the virtual tour and discuss how they move. Ask the student to imitate the movements of different animals, such as crawling like a turtle or hopping like a rabbit.
