Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create your own garden and understand the basic steps involved in gardening.

Materials and Prep

  • Seeds or seedlings of your choice
  • Garden soil or compost
  • Gardening tools (small shovel, watering can, gardening gloves)
  • Sunlight and water source
  • Research or knowledge about the plants you want to grow

Activities

  1. Choose the location for your garden. Find a spot in your yard or balcony that receives enough sunlight.

  2. Prepare the soil. Use your small shovel to loosen the soil and remove any weeds or rocks.

  3. Plant your seeds or seedlings. Follow the instructions on the seed packet or ask an adult for guidance.

  4. Water your garden regularly. Use your watering can to gently water the plants, making sure the soil stays moist.

  5. Observe and care for your garden. Keep an eye on your plants and make sure they are growing well. Remove any weeds that may appear.

  6. Harvest and enjoy your produce. Once your plants have grown and produced fruits or vegetables, pick them and savor the delicious results of your hard work!
