Talking Points

  • Did you know that lip gloss has been used for centuries to add shine and moisture to the lips?

  • There are different types of lip gloss recipes, some using natural ingredients like oils and butters, while others may contain synthetic additives.

  • Grapeseed oil is often used in lip gloss as it is lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin.

  • Beeswax pellets help to give lip gloss its solid consistency and provide a protective barrier on the lips.

  • Shea butter is a moisturizing ingredient that helps to nourish and soften the lips.

  • Essential oils can be added for a pleasant fragrance, but make sure to choose oils that are safe for use on the lips.

  • When melting the ingredients in the microwave, it's important to do it in short intervals and stir in between to avoid overheating or burning the mixture.

  • Allowing the lip gloss to cool and solidify before using will ensure that it sets properly.

  • Be creative with decorating your lip gloss containers and have fun experimenting with different flavors and colors!

  • Remember to always test a small amount of your homemade lip gloss on your skin before applying it to your lips to check for any allergic reactions.
