Activities

  1. Research and Create Flashcards

  2. Role Play

Choose a mental health disorder and pretend to be a person experiencing it. Act out different situations and emotions related to the disorder. This will help you understand how these disorders can affect people's lives.

  3. Draw and Describe

Choose one mental health disorder and create a drawing that represents it. Write a paragraph describing your drawing and explaining how it relates to the disorder. This activity will help you express your understanding in a creative way.

Talking Points

  • Anxiety: Anxiety is a feeling of fear or worry that doesn't go away. It can make people feel restless, irritable, and have trouble sleeping. Some people may experience panic attacks, which are intense moments of fear or anxiety.

  • Depression: Depression is a mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest in activities. It can affect a person's energy, appetite, and ability to concentrate. It's important to remember that depression is not just feeling sad sometimes, but a deeper and longer-lasting condition.

  • ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder): ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects a person's ability to pay attention and control impulsive behavior. People with ADHD may have trouble staying focused, following instructions, and sitting still. However, they can also be creative and energetic.

  • Bipolar Disorder: Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder characterized by extreme mood swings. People with bipolar disorder may experience periods of intense happiness and energy (mania) followed by periods of sadness and low energy (depression). It's important to seek help and treatment for bipolar disorder.
