Materials and Prep

  • Various household items for playing house (e.g., dolls, toy kitchen sets, pretend food)
  • Art supplies (e.g., paper, crayons, markers, glue)
  • Elastic cords and beads for making bracelets
  • Books or online resources related to history and social studies
  • Safe space for gymnastics activities

Activities

  • Artistic Expression: Let the student explore their creativity by creating artwork. They can draw, paint, or even make collages using the art supplies. This activity promotes fine motor skills and self-expression.
  • Bracelet Making: Teach the student how to make bracelets using the elastic cords and beads. They can practice patterns, colors, and measurements while creating unique accessories.
  • Caring for Others: Discuss the importance of empathy and helping others. Ask the student to think about ways they can care for people in their family or community. They can write a short story or draw a picture depicting acts of kindness.
  • Gymnastics Fun: Set up a safe area for the student to practice basic gymnastics moves like rolls, cartwheels, and jumps. Explain the science behind balance, flexibility, and body control.
