Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to practice basic math skills while having fun with dragons!

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and pencil
  • Coloring materials
  • Dragon-themed worksheets (optional)

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Dragon Counting

Draw different dragons on a piece of paper and label them with numbers. Practice counting the dragons from 1 to 10.

  2. Dragon Addition

Create a simple addition problem using dragon illustrations. For example, draw two dragons on one side and three dragons on the other side. Ask the student to count the total number of dragons and write the answer.

  3. Dragon Subtraction

Draw a group of dragons and ask the student to subtract a certain number of dragons. For instance, draw six dragons and ask the student to cross out two dragons and write the remaining number.

  4. Dragon Measurement

Draw different-sized dragons and ask the student to measure their lengths using a ruler or any available measuring tool. Compare the lengths of the dragons and arrange them from shortest to longest.

  5. Dragon Patterns

Draw a sequence of dragons with missing parts, such as the wings or tails. Ask the student to complete the pattern by drawing the missing parts on the dragons.
