Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to explore and understand the geography of different countries through art and social studies activities.

Materials and Prep

  • World map or globe
  • Art supplies (colored pencils, markers, or paints)
  • Blank paper or sketchbook
  • Internet access for research

Activities

  • Create a Travel Brochure: Choose a country that interests you and research its geography, landmarks, and culture. Use the art supplies to design a travel brochure showcasing the country's unique features.
  • Map It Out: Select a few countries from different continents. Use the world map or globe to locate and mark those countries. Then, draw a detailed map of one of the countries, including its major cities, rivers, and mountains.
  • Landmark Art: Pick a famous landmark from any country and create a piece of artwork that represents it. Use your imagination and artistic skills to capture the essence of the landmark.
  • Geography Quiz: Test your knowledge by creating a geography quiz for yourself or a friend. Include questions about countries, capitals, and geographical features. Research the correct answers to learn more.
