Objective

Materials and Prep

No prior knowledge of Indonesian is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Activity 1: Introduction - Have the student introduce themselves in Indonesian. Encourage them to use basic phrases like "Nama saya [name]" (My name is [name]) and "Saya berumur [age] tahun" (I am [age] years old).
- Activity 2: Greetings - Teach the student common Indonesian greetings such as "Selamat pagi" (Good morning), "Selamat siang" (Good afternoon), and "Selamat malam" (Good evening). Practice greetings with the student.
- Activity 3: Conversation Practice - Create a dialogue with the student using simple Indonesian sentences. For example, ask them "Apa kabar?" (How are you?) and have them respond with "Baik" (Good) or "Saya baik" (I'm good).
- Activity 4: Vocabulary Building - Introduce the student to basic Indonesian vocabulary related to everyday objects, colors, and numbers. Have them write down the words and practice pronouncing them.
- Activity 5: Cultural Exploration - Show the student pictures or videos of Indonesian culture, such as traditional dances or landmarks. Discuss the importance of cultural understanding when learning a language.
