Talking Points

  • Guinea pigs are small rodents that make great pets. They are known for their friendly nature and adorable appearance.

  • Guinea pigs require a balanced diet consisting of fresh vegetables, hay, and pellets. They also need a constant supply of clean water.

  • Unlike some other pets, Guinea pigs cannot produce vitamin C on their own. That's why it's important to provide them with vitamin C-rich foods or supplements.

  • Guinea pigs are social animals and should ideally be kept in pairs or small groups. They enjoy companionship and interaction with their human owners.

  • It's important to provide a suitable habitat for Guinea pigs. They need a spacious cage with appropriate bedding, hiding spots, and toys for mental stimulation.

  • Guinea pigs have a lifespan of around 5-7 years, so owning one is a long-term commitment. It's essential to consider this before deciding to bring one into your family.
