Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and describe different animals in English.
Materials and Prep
- Paper and crayons/markers
- A device with internet access (optional)
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
-
Animal Drawing: Ask the student to choose their favorite animal and draw it on a piece of paper. Encourage them to label different parts of the animal's body in English, such as "tail," "ears," or "paws."
-
Animal Sounds: Play the sounds of different animals (e.g., lion, dog, cat) and ask the student to guess which animal made each sound. You can find animal sounds online or use picture cards if available.
-
Animal Charades: Act out the movements and sounds of various animals while the student tries to guess which animal you are pretending to be. Encourage them to describe the animal in English once they guess correctly.
-
Animal Flashcards: Create simple animal flashcards using pictures or drawings. Show the flashcards one by one and ask the student to name the animal in English. For an extra challenge, ask them to describe the animal's characteristics or habitat.
