Objective

By the end of this lesson, the 4-year-old student will have a basic understanding of standing up to bullying and how to respond to it.

Materials and Prep

  • No additional materials are required for this lesson.
  • The student should have a basic understanding of what bullying means.

Activities

  • Role Play: Act out different scenarios where the student can practice standing up to bullying. Encourage them to use assertive language and body language to express their feelings and protect themselves.
  • Art Collage: Provide magazines or newspapers and ask the student to cut out pictures of people being kind and helping others. Help them create a collage that represents standing up to bullying and promoting kindness.
  • Story Time: Read a children's book about bullying and discuss the characters' actions and emotions. Ask the student how they would feel in similar situations and how they can respond positively.
  • Social Skills Game: Play a game where the student has to identify different emotions by looking at facial expressions or acting them out. Discuss how recognizing emotions can help them understand when someone is being bullied and how they can offer support.
