Materials and Prep

  • A computer or gaming console with Mario Odyssey
  • Paper and coloring materials
  • Counting objects (e.g., coins, mushrooms)
  • An open space for physical activities

Activities

  • Create your own Mario Odyssey character:

Encourage the student to design their own character inspired by the game. They can draw and color their character using their imagination.

  • Write a short story:

Ask the student to write a short story about their character's adventures in the Mario Odyssey world. They can use their creativity to come up with exciting scenarios.

  • Counting game:

Use the counting objects to practice counting skills. Ask the student to collect a certain number of objects, such as coins or mushrooms, in the game.

  • Obstacle course:

Create a simple obstacle course in the open space. The student can pretend to be Mario and navigate through the course, jumping over obstacles and collecting imaginary power-ups.

  • Science experiment - Floating and sinking:

Fill a bowl with water and gather various objects from the game, such as small toys or game-related items. Ask the student to predict whether each object will float or sink, and then test their predictions by placing the objects in the water.
