Objective
By the end of this lesson, the 2 year old student will be able to recognize and identify numbers from 1 to 5.
Materials and Prep
- Number flashcards (1-5)
- Blank paper and crayons
Activities
- Number Flashcard Match-Up: Show the student a number flashcard and ask them to find the corresponding number of objects (e.g., show the flashcard with the number 3 and ask the student to find three toys or blocks).
- Number Tracing: Give the student a blank paper and a crayon. Show them a number flashcard and ask them to trace the number on the paper. Repeat for each number.
- Counting Game: Place a small pile of objects (such as buttons or small toys) in front of the student. Ask them to count how many objects are there. Encourage them to touch each object as they count.
- Number Hunt: Hide the number flashcards around the room. Ask the student to find each number and bring it back to you. Celebrate their success with praise and encouragement.
