Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to memorize the emergency number and understand the importance of dialing it during emergency situations.
Materials and Prep
- A toy phone or a pretend phone
No additional materials or prior knowledge required.
Activities
- Role-playing emergency situations: Create different scenarios where the student can pretend to be in an emergency situation. Encourage them to act out what they would do and who they would call. For example, pretend there is a fire and ask the student to demonstrate how they would respond and who they would call for help.
- Practice dialing the emergency number: Using the toy phone or pretend phone, have the student practice dialing the emergency number (e.g., 911). Guide them through the process of pressing the correct buttons and pretending to talk to an emergency operator.
