Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to plan and build a house on Sims 4 using historical buildings as inspiration.

Materials and Prep

  • A computer with Sims 4 installed
  • Access to historical building references (books, websites, etc.)

Activities

  • Research historical buildings: Encourage the student to explore different historical buildings and their architectural styles. They can use books or websites to gather information and inspiration.
  • Plan the house design: Have the student sketch out their ideas for the house design, taking inspiration from the historical buildings they researched. They can include details like the layout, exterior features, and interior design elements.
  • Build the house on Sims 4: Using the design plan, guide the student to start building the house in Sims 4. They can choose appropriate architectural elements and try to recreate the historical building's style in their virtual house.
  • Add historical elements: Encourage the student to research historical furniture, decorations, and materials to incorporate into their Sims 4 house. They can use these elements to enhance the historical authenticity of their virtual home.
  • Presentation and reflection: Once the house is complete, have the student present their creation to the class or family members. They can explain the historical inspiration behind their design choices and reflect on the process of planning and building the house.
