Talking Points

  • Food is an essential part of our daily lives and is influenced by various factors such as culture, traditions, and social norms.

  • Our food choices are influenced by our family, friends, media, and advertising. Advertisements often create a desire for certain foods and influence our perception of what is considered "normal" or desirable.

  • Food traditions and cultural practices shape the ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques used in different regions of the world. For example, rice is a staple food in many Asian countries due to its availability and suitability for the climate.

  • Society's values and beliefs also impact our food choices. For instance, some cultures prioritize organic and locally sourced foods, while others may focus on convenience and affordability.
