Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, pencil, crayons

No prior knowledge needed for this lesson, just bring your creativity!

Activities

  • Sound Scavenger Hunt: Walk around your house and find objects that start with different sounds. Draw the objects and write the starting sound.
  • Letter Art: Choose a letter and draw a picture of something that starts with that letter. Color it in and write the letter next to it.
  • Sound Story: Create a short story using different sounds as characters. Draw each character and write their sound next to them.

  • Letters and Sounds: "Letters are like pictures that make sounds. Let's draw the letter 'A' together."
  • Beginning Sounds: "Let's find things that start with the sound 'buh'. Can you draw a ball and write 'b' next to it?"
  • Creativity: "You can make your own stories with sounds. What sound should our story start with?"
