Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand more about dinosaurs and have fun learning about their characteristics and habitats.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Coloring pencils or markers
  • Internet access for research

No prior knowledge needed, just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm!

Activities

  • Dinosaur Coloring: Choose your favorite dinosaur and color a picture of it. Try to make it as realistic as possible!
  • Dino Habitat: Research where your chosen dinosaur lived. Draw its habitat and include some of its favorite foods.
  • Dino Fossils: Create your own dinosaur fossils using playdough. Press toy dinosaur figures into the dough to make imprints.

  • What are dinosaurs? - "Dinosaurs were huge creatures that lived long ago. They roamed the Earth millions of years before people."
  • Types of dinosaurs: - "There were many different types of dinosaurs, some were big like the T-Rex and others were small like the Velociraptor."
  • How do we know about dinosaurs? - "We learn about dinosaurs from their fossils, which are the remains of these ancient creatures."
  • Dinosaur habitats: - "Dinosaurs lived in different places like forests, deserts, and even near the ocean. They made their homes in these habitats."
  • Dinosaur extinction: - "Dinosaurs disappeared a long time ago. Scientists think a big asteroid hitting the Earth might have caused their extinction."
