Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to explore different types of fabrics and understand their textures and uses.

Materials and Prep

  • Fabric samples (cotton, silk, wool, etc.)
  • Magnifying glass
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Paper
  • Markers or crayons

No prior knowledge needed, just bring your curiosity and creativity!

Activities

  • Texture Exploration: Feel the different fabrics and describe how they feel (soft, rough, smooth).
  • Fabric Collage: Cut out fabric samples and create a collage on paper. Glue them down and draw designs around them.
  • Fabric Sorting: Sort the fabric samples based on their colors, patterns, or textures.
