  • Pots or containers to plant the seeds
  • Soil
  • Watering can
  • Markers for labeling
  • Access to a garden or outdoor space

No prior knowledge is needed, just a curious mind and willingness to learn!

Activities

  • Garden Exploration: Take a walk in the garden or outdoor space. Observe different plants and discuss how they are grown sustainably.
  • Harvesting and Tasting: If possible, harvest some fruits or vegetables from the garden. Talk about the nutritional benefits of fresh produce.

Talking Points

  • Plants need sunlight to make their food: "Plants are like little chefs that use sunlight to cook their own food. Isn't that amazing?"
  • Water is essential for plant growth: "Plants drink water just like we do. It helps them stay healthy and grow big and strong!"
  • Healthy soil is like a plant's home: "Plants need good soil to live in, just like we need a cozy home. It provides them with all the nutrients they need."
  • Growing our own food is fun and rewarding: "When we grow our own food, we know exactly where it comes from and how it was grown. It's like a little adventure in our backyard!"
