Objective
By the end of this lesson, the Kindergarten student will be able to identify and describe various animals, as well as demonstrate comprehension of animal-related vocabulary.
Materials and Prep
- Animal picture cards (e.g., printed images or drawings of different animals)
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Markers or crayons
Activities

Introduce the concept of animals to the student by showing them the animal picture cards. Discuss the different animals, their characteristics, and where they live.

Ask the student to choose their favorite animal from the picture cards and help them draw and cut out a simple representation of that animal using the construction paper.

Encourage the student to label their animal drawing with the name of the animal using markers or crayons.

Guide the student in creating a mini story or sentence using their animal drawing. For example, "The lion is strong and fierce."

Allow the student to share their animal drawing and story with you or other family members, practicing their oral communication skills.
