- No prior knowledge needed
Activities
- Counting Objects: Gather some toys or objects and ask the student to count them one by one. Have them write down the number.
- Drawing Numbers: Ask the student to draw a certain number of objects on the paper. For example, draw 3 stars.
- Number Hunt: Go around the house and find objects to count. Have the student write down the number of objects they find.
Talking Points
- "Numbers help us know how many things there are. When we count, we use numbers like 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on."
- "Each number tells us about one thing. So, if we have 3 apples, the number 3 shows us how many apples we have."
- "We can draw numbers too! Drawing 3 stars means we draw 3 stars, just like counting 3 stars."
- "Let's go on a number hunt! We will find things around us and count them to see how many there are."
- "Remember, numbers are like magic words that tell us how many things there are. Let's practice counting and using numbers together!"
