Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand more about Earth through art, science, and social studies activities.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, colored pencils, globe or world map, magnifying glass.

Prep: Familiarize yourself with basic facts about Earth's continents, oceans, and animals.

Activities

  • Art Activity - Earth Drawing: Have the student draw the Earth on a piece of paper using blue and green colored pencils. Encourage them to add continents and oceans.
  • Science Activity - Earth Exploration: Show the student a globe or world map. Use the magnifying glass to explore the different continents and oceans. Discuss the colors and shapes they see.
  • Social Studies Activity - Earth Animals: Talk about different animals that live on Earth. Have the student draw their favorite Earth animal and share why they like it.

  • Continents and Oceans: "Earth has big pieces of land called continents and huge bodies of water called oceans."
