Objective
By the end of this lesson, the 2-year-old student will have explored different aspects of Family through Art, English, History, Math, Music, Physical Education, and Science activities.
Materials and Prep
Materials needed: crayons, paper, picture books about families, counting blocks, music player, open space for physical activities, and household items for simple science experiments.
Prep: Familiarize yourself with the picture books and prepare the music playlist in advance.
Activities
1. Art: Have the student draw a picture of their family using crayons and paper.
2. English: Read a family-themed picture book together and point out family members in the illustrations.
3. History: Show the student family photos and talk about their family history in simple terms.
4. Math: Use counting blocks to count the number of family members and do simple addition and subtraction with family member numbers.
5. Music: Play family-friendly songs and dance together as a family.
6. Physical Education: Have a family relay race in the backyard or living room.
7. Science: Conduct a simple science experiment like mixing colors to create new colors and relate it to how families are made up of different individuals coming together.
