- Animal picture cards (can be homemade or printed from online)
- Animal toys or stuffed animals
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Animal Match-Up: Show your child different animal picture cards and ask them to identify the animals. Then, give them the corresponding animal toys or stuffed animals to match with the pictures.
- Animal Sounds: Play a game where you make animal sounds and your child has to guess which animal it is. For example, you can say "Moo" and your child should respond with "Cow".
- Animal Actions: Have your child act out different animal actions, such as hopping like a rabbit or slithering like a snake. Encourage them to use complete sentences like "I am hopping like a rabbit."
- Animal Descriptions: Show your child a picture of an animal and ask them to describe it using adjectives. For example, if you show them a picture of a lion, they can say "The lion is big and strong."
