- Pencils or markers
Prep:
- Clear a space to work and have your materials ready.
Activities
1. Draw and Count: Draw different shapes like circles, squares, and triangles. Count the number of sides on each shape as you draw them.
2. Math Story: Create a drawing that tells a math story. For example, draw a picture of 5 birds sitting on a tree branch, then count them together.
3. Shape Hunt: Go on a shape hunt around your house. Find objects that are shaped like circles, squares, or triangles and draw them.
Talking Points
- "Let's count together how many sides this square has. 1, 2, 3, 4 sides! Great job!"
- "Can you draw 3 circles and then count how many circles you have drawn?"
- "What shape do you see on the clock? It's a circle! Let's draw a clock together."
