By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify letters out of order.
Materials and Prep
- Alphabet flashcards
- Whiteboard or paper
- Dry erase marker or pen
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Warm-up: Sing the Alphabet Song together.
- Show the alphabet flashcards one by one, out of order. Ask the student to identify each letter as you show them.
- Write a jumbled sequence of 5 letters on the whiteboard or paper. Ask the student to rearrange the letters to form a word. Provide guidance and support as needed.
- Repeat step 3 with different jumbled sequences of letters, gradually increasing the difficulty.
- Play a game of "Letter Scramble": Write a word on the whiteboard or paper, but scramble the letters. The student needs to unscramble the letters and identify the word.
