Objective

By the end of this lesson, Elisabeth will be able to draw bugs on rocks using her imagination and creativity.

Materials and Prep

• Rocks of different sizes and shapes
• Washable markers or crayons
• Table or workspace
• Apron or old clothes to protect from mess

No prior knowledge or preparation needed. Just bring your creativity!

Activities

• Bug Hunt: Go on a mini bug hunt in your backyard or around the house. Look at the different bugs and their features.
• Rock Selection: Choose a rock that inspires you. It could be smooth, rough, big, or small.
• Draw Bugs: Use your markers or crayons to draw bugs on the rocks. You can create ladybugs, butterflies, ants, or even make up your own bug!
• Bug Story: Create a story about the bugs you've drawn on the rocks. What are their names? Where do they live?

• "Let's go on a bug hunt! What bugs can you find outside or in your home?"
• "Which rock do you want to use for your bug drawing? Show me the one that speaks to you."
