Materials and Prep

  • A computer or tablet with internet access
  • Paper and pencil
  • Printed copies of Fortnite-related articles or stories (optional)

Prior knowledge of Fortnite is helpful but not required.

Activities

  1. Reading Fortnite-related articles: Search for articles or news stories about Fortnite online. Read them aloud or silently, depending on your preference. Take notes on key information, interesting facts, or new vocabulary words you come across.

  2. Writing a Fortnite summary: After reading the articles, write a short summary of what you learned. Include important details and main ideas. Practice organizing your thoughts and writing in complete sentences.

  3. Creating a Fortnite character profile: Imagine you are a character in Fortnite. Write a detailed description of your character, including their appearance, personality, and special abilities. Use your imagination and be creative!

  4. Reading Fortnite-related stories: If you have printed copies of Fortnite-related stories, read them and discuss the plot, characters, and any lessons or messages conveyed in the story. Practice summarizing and retelling the story in your own words.

  5. Designing a Fortnite poster: Create a poster that promotes the importance of reading. Include Fortnite elements and characters in your design. Use catchy phrases or quotes to encourage others to read.
