No prior knowledge needed, just come ready to have fun learning!
Activities
- Counting Objects: Gather some toys or objects and practice counting them. Write down the number of each type of object.
- Drawing Fun: Draw pictures of animals or shapes and write the number of each kind next to them. For example, draw 3 cats and write the number 3 next to them.
- Number Hunt: Go around your house and find numbers on objects like clocks, calendars, or even on your toys. Write down the numbers you find.
Talking Points
- Numbers show us how many of something we have. For example, if you have 3 apples, the number 3 tells us there are 3 apples. You can say, "The number 3 tells us there are 3 apples!"
- When we count objects, we give each one a number. So if we have 4 teddy bears, we count 1, 2, 3, 4 teddy bears. You can say, "1, 2, 3, 4 teddy bears!"
- Numbers are like labels that tell us how many there are. If you see the number 5 on a clock, it means there are 5 hours. You can say, "The number 5 on the clock means it's 5 o'clock!"
