Objective

By the end of this lesson, Jyemeka will be able to plant a native garden in the courtyard using potted plants.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed:

  • Various potted native plants
  • Gardening gloves
  • Garden trowel
  • Watering can
  • Potting soil

Prep: Make sure the courtyard area is ready for planting, and have all materials easily accessible.

Activities

  • Plant Exploration: Explore the different potted native plants and discuss their characteristics.
  • Potting Plants: Demonstrate how to carefully transfer the plants into larger pots with potting soil.
  • Creative Arrangement: Let Jyemeka arrange the potted plants in the courtyard to create a visually appealing garden.
  • Watering Routine: Teach Jyemeka the proper way to water the plants and explain the importance of consistent watering.
