Talking Points
- Letters make sounds. When we put sounds together, we can read words.
- Each letter has its own special sound, like 'A' says 'ahh' and 'B' says 'buh'.
- When we see letters in a word, we can try to sound them out to read the word.
"Let's say the sound of the letter 'S'. Sssss like snake!"
"Can you make the sound of the letter 'M'? Mmmmm like in 'Monkey'!"
"Let's sound out the word 'Cat'. C-A-T. Cat! Great job!"
