Lesson Ablauf (Lesson Flow):
- Warm-up: Sing & See (2-3 minutes):
Start with a cheerful 'Hello' song or the Alphabet Song. Then, show the toddler the 'S' flashcard. "Look! This is the letter S! It makes a fun sound, like a slithering snake: sssssss! Can you make the sssss sound? S is for snake... sssssnake!" Exaggerate the sound and make it playful. Encourage the toddler to mimic the sound. - Introduce the Hunt (1-2 minutes):
"Guess what? We're going to be Super Sound Sleuths today! Sleuth starts with S! We need to find things that start with our special sound: sssssss!" Show the basket. "We'll put all the 'sssss' things we find in here!" - The 'S' Sound Hunt (5-7 minutes):
Guide the toddler around the room to find the pre-placed 'S' objects. When they spot one (or you guide them to it), say, "Wow! You found a sock! Does sock start with sssss? Yes! Sssss-sock! Let's put it in our basket!" Repeat this process for each object, always emphasizing the initial /s/ sound clearly and slowly. Let the toddler place the items in the basket. - Review the Treasures (2-3 minutes):
Sit down together with the basket. Take out each item one by one. "What did our Super Sound Sleuth find? A sssss-spoon!" "And a sssss-sock!" Reinforce the sound with each object. Count the items found. - Cool-down & Reinforce (2-3 minutes):
Praise the toddler's excellent sleuthing skills! "You were a super sssss-sleuth! You found so many things that start with the sssss sound!" Optionally, offer an 'S' themed coloring page (like a snake or star) while softly repeating the /s/ sound. Sing a quick goodbye song.
