Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to introduce yourself, have a basic conversation in Spanish, and understand common phrases.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: Pen, paper, Spanish-English dictionary (online or physical), and a positive attitude!

No prior knowledge of Spanish is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Activity 1: Practice introducing yourself in Spanish. Write down your name, age, and a fun fact about yourself in Spanish.

  • Activity 2: Watch a short Spanish video or listen to a Spanish song. Try to pick out words or phrases you recognize.

  • Activity 3: Create flashcards with common Spanish phrases. Practice them daily until they become second nature.

Talking Points

  • Saying hello and introducing yourself:

    "Hola, me llamo [Your Name]."

  • Asking how someone is doing:

    "¿Cómo estás?"

  • Ordering food at a restaurant:

    "Quisiera [food item], por favor."

  • Asking for directions:

    "¿Dónde está [location]?"

  • Expressing gratitude:

    "¡Muchas gracias!"
