Objective

Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencil or markers
- List of simple sight words (like "cat," "dog," "run," "see")
- Storybook with large print (can be any favorite story)
Before the lesson, prepare a list of simple sight words and select a storybook that the student enjoys. Make sure the student is in a comfortable and distraction-free environment.
Activities
- Sight Word Treasure Hunt:
Write sight words on pieces of paper and hide them around the house. The student will find the words and read them out loud as they discover them.
- Word Art:
Have the student pick their favorite sight words and create colorful artwork around them. They can draw pictures that represent each word.
- Story Time Reading:
Choose a storybook and read it together. Encourage the student to read out loud the parts they can recognize. Celebrate their successes!
- Make a Word Book:
Help the student create their own mini-book using simple words and illustrations. They can write a sentence for each word and draw a picture to go along with it.
