Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to improve their reading skills by engaging in fun activities related to dolls.
Materials and Prep
- Dolls
- A book or story about dolls
- Paper and crayons
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Read a Doll Story: Start by reading a book or story about dolls to the student. Encourage them to listen carefully and ask questions if they don't understand something.
- Retell the Story: After reading the story, ask the student to retell the main events or plot of the story using their own words. This will help them practice comprehension and summarization skills.
- Create a Doll Character: Have the student choose one of their dolls and create a character profile for it. Ask them to think about the doll's name, personality traits, and favorite activities. They can draw a picture of the doll and write a short description.
- Write a Doll Adventure: Using their doll character, ask the student to imagine an adventure the doll could go on. Encourage them to think creatively and come up with a beginning, middle, and end for their story. They can write or dictate the story and illustrate it with drawings.
