Objective
By the end of this lesson, Lively will be able to identify different types of plants and animals, understand their basic needs, and appreciate the importance of nature in our world.
Materials and Prep
- Outdoor space or garden
- Notebook or paper for drawing
- Crayons or colored pencils
- Sunshine and fresh air!
Before the lesson, make sure to choose a safe outdoor area where Lively can explore plants and animals. Prepare the drawing materials for her to document her findings.
Activities
- Nature Walk: Take a walk outside to observe different plants and animals. Ask Lively to point out what she sees, such as flowers, trees, birds, and bugs.
- Plant and Animal Drawing: After the walk, have Lively draw her favorite plant and animal from the nature walk.
- Story Time: Sit together and read a short story or make up a story about a plant or animal. Lively can choose her favorite character from the nature walk.
During the walk, encourage Lively to ask questions about the plants and animals she encounters. This will help her engage with the environment and learn more about it.
Ask her to use lots of colors and to add details like the shape of the leaves or the type of animal. This will help her develop observation skills and creativity.
This activity will spark her imagination and help her connect with the natural world through storytelling.

- "Plants help us breathe by giving us oxygen. Isn't that amazing?"
- "Every plant and animal has a special job in nature. What do you think a bee does?"
- "We should take care of plants and animals because they are our friends. How can we help them?"
