Objective
By the end of this lesson, Aleksander will be able to recognize and trace letters A to D using the Play Smart Alphabet workbook. He will also learn to associate these letters with words and objects that start with each letter.
Materials and Prep
- Play Smart Alphabet workbook (pages 4-5)
- Crayons or colored pencils
- A comfortable and quiet workspace
- Optional: A small collection of toys or pictures that start with the letters A, B, C, and D
Before the lesson, ensure the workspace is tidy and that Aleksander has access to all materials. Familiarize yourself with the content on pages 4-5 of the workbook.
Activities
-
Letter Tracing: Start by guiding Aleksander to trace the letters A, B, C, and D in the workbook. Encourage him to use different colors for each letter to make it more fun!
-
Letter Sounds: After tracing, say the letters aloud and help Aleksander make the sounds. For example, say "A says 'ah'" and encourage him to repeat after you.
-
Object Matching: Use the optional toys or pictures to find items that start with the letters A, B, C, and D. For instance, show him an apple for 'A' and ask him to say the word.
-
Coloring Fun: Let Aleksander color in the letters on the workbook after tracing. Ask him to choose his favorite colors and make it a creative activity!
Talking Points
- "Look, Aleksander! This is the letter A. Can you say 'A' with me?"
- "Great job tracing! Now, what sound does 'B' make? Can you make the sound with me?"
- "What toy do we have that starts with 'C'? Can you find it?"
- "Wow, you're doing so well! Let's color the letter D. What color do you want to use?"
