Objective

By the end of this lesson, Zac will have a comprehensive understanding of how to create a lemonade stand business plan, including aspects of art, language, history, math, physical education, science, and social studies. Zac will also develop skills in marketing, budgeting, and customer service while having fun with hands-on activities.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and pencils for drawing and writing

  • Ingredients for lemonade (water, lemons, sugar, etc.) if a practical demonstration is desired
  • Outdoor space for setting up a lemonade stand (if possible)
  • Basic math skills for budgeting and pricing
  • Knowledge of local history related to lemonade stands or small businesses

Activities

  • Art Activity: Zac will design a colorful sign for the lemonade stand. This will involve drawing and using creative lettering to attract customers.

  • English Activity: Zac will write a catchy slogan for the lemonade stand and a short description of the lemonade being sold. This will enhance writing skills and creativity.

  • History Activity: Zac will research the history of lemonade stands and their significance in American culture. This can include looking at famous lemonade stands or entrepreneurs who started small.

  • Math Activity: Zac will create a budget for the lemonade stand, calculating costs for ingredients and setting a price for each cup to ensure a profit.

  • Physical Education Activity: Zac will practice setting up the stand and serving lemonade, focusing on good posture and movement to stay active while working.

  • Science Activity: Zac will learn about the science of making lemonade, including the acidity of lemons and the process of dissolving sugar in water.

  • Social Studies Activity: Zac will discuss the importance of community and how lemonade stands can help bring people together, fostering social interactions.
