Before the lesson, make sure to have a clean workspace ready for crafting. Show the student how to use scissors safely and encourage them to express their ideas freely.
Activities
- Pirate Hat Creation:
Using paper, have the student cut out a pirate hat shape. They can decorate it with crayons, glitter, and markers to make it unique. This will help them practice cutting and designing.
- Treasure Map Drawing:
The student can draw a treasure map on a piece of paper. Encourage them to include landmarks like mountains, rivers, and an "X" to mark the treasure. This activity fosters creativity and storytelling.
- Pirate Character Craft:
Using googly eyes, pom poms, and pipe cleaners, the student can create their own pirate character. They can use the materials to make a pirate face, complete with a hat and a beard. This is a fun way to combine different textures and shapes.
